J/k, it was an option after all.
It's a bit embarrassing to do this after insisting so hard that it wasn't an option, but since Episode 1 has been going on about a month and a half now-

It seems most of the contestants are wrapping up their threads there at this point, and the ones that aren't yet seem likely to go on for much, much longer than intended. So, after weighing the options, we've come to the conclusion that we should probably summarize the rest of the challenge and move on.

Everyone, please use this post to work out with the others what happens to your characters between your current time and 0:60!
(I will as well.)

The very first Week Change Post will be put up once all characters are summarized and accounted for, though we're also planning to hold a debriefing with the Announcer, in case anybody wants to strangle discuss the challenge with him.

Additionally, I deeply apologize to those muns whose characters didn't really get to participate at all. ´д` This level design turned out to be far too big for only twelve combatants, so I'll try to do better with Episode 2's Arena, and working the kinks out of the challenge system. I'm very sorry, and thank you so much for your continued patience.

As for the whole shebang with America, Russia, Larxene, and Duo, here's what I am tentatively thinking might happen:

  • America probably knocks Russia out (without, like, actually making sure he stays incapacitated), keeps the gun and goes over to help Duo.
  • ????? not sure what happens here, or if Duo makes it.
  • Larxene lures America (and maybe Duo, if he's still alive) up north to the airfield, where Seishirou is at still.
  • America's in the weird position of trying to keep anybody from getting killed, when he's basically pissed off enough to kill something himself.
  • Whatever happens at the airfield, time runs out before it has a chance to get really ugly.

As I said, this is totally tentative and subject to change at any objection. You guys's thoughts?

Larxene is going to be easing up on Duo a bit know that he is obviously weakening. She wants him alive for now, so unless he passes out he should be still aware by the time America arrives on scene. And at that point whether Duo lives or dies is in America's hands. :Dd

As for luring America up to the airfield, that sounds perfectly doable, and since she'd be assuming Russia was dead/unconscious it would be her first plan of action - she knows she has an ally there (not that she expects she needs it).

Right, so Russia gets knocked out and will probably stay down for a while. By the time he wakes and goes to claim a crystal/find America he'll run out of time before he can really do either of those things. 'S what I'm thinking.

Yes, Duo is on the verge of passing out already, what with several wounds and a kunai still stuck in him. He's putting on a tough front but I assume his bullet does little to no damage to Larxene, and all she has to do is get one good blow in and he's going down. So any assistance America can give would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry 'bout the late reply
Okay, so I guess the question is, does America get there in time to do any real butt-saving? Frankly, I see it leaning toward "no" - if Duo's bleeding and unconscious by the time he gets there, I think it's very possible he'd assume he's dead without checking very closely (given the emotional state he's in). And if he thought that, then it'd be really easy for Larxene to lure him away, too.

Re: Sorry 'bout the late reply
That's fine with me. Maybe Duo can be on the ground, sorta face down and half-conscious. America can go running after Larxene, thinking he's already dead, and Duo can maybe even see them run off, unable to move or call out, before everything goes dark.

(I'm mean sometimes)

Hawright, so next what happens en-route/when they get to the airfield crystal...

Amurca'd be chasing after Larxene with a This Must Be Stopped vengeance, but she's much faster than him so she'd probably beat him there unless she deliberately wanted him to get there first, right?
vryvryfrigtning on February 19th, 2009 05:06 pm (UTC)
Yeah, she'd get there first. Depending on how she feels she might just teleport back to the airfield, truth be told.

An' Seishirou says he will be not getting involved until they do something interesting. Think they'll be doing anything interesting?

I mean, at this point, America couldn't give less of a crap about the crystals, although idk if he heard/remembers/believes that they heal you. Sooo I guess the reason he's chasing her is A) to keep her from mutilating anybody else and B) because he doesn't understand this whole "hurting people = fun" thing. Something like that.
vryvryfrigtning on February 20th, 2009 07:44 pm (UTC)
I think it depends on what Seishirou defines as 'interesting'. With Larxene involved there's going to be a fair number of sharp pointy things as well as lightning.

Makes sense. Larxene's not precisely interested in the crystals all that much either, so it works.
America / Alfred F. Jones: ☆ this we'll defendoldglory on February 20th, 2009 08:15 pm (UTC)
Given the two of them I guess it's inevitable they'll end up fighting. XD America might be at something of a disadvantage, since he wants to think he's above violence-as-entertainment, but taking into account her clearly superhuman abilities, he'd probably throw moral superiority to the wind as soon as it started to conflict with his sense of self-preservation. X3a So, most likely, the safety's off.

Awesome. :D Larxene likes a good challenge now and again.
